Suzanne Mouton-Odum, Ph.D.

Dr. Mouton-Odum is a licensed psychologist and founder of PsycTech. She is Assistant Clinical Professor at Baylor College of Medicine, Department of Psychiatry and Behavioral Sciences. She specializes in conducting cognitive behavioral therapy with children, adolescents, and adults. Dr. Mouton-Odum has a special interest in treating people who suffer from anxiety disorders, body-focused repetitive behaviors (BFRBs) such as hair pulling and skin picking disorders, and persistent tic disorders (PTDs).

She has extensive training in these areas and dedicates most of her clinical time to the treatment of these disorders. Dr. Mouton-Odum serves on the Scientific Advisory board of the TLC Foundation for Body Focused Repetitive Behaviors (formerly the Trichotillomania Learning Center), a national organization dedicated to education and awareness of body focused disorders.

Dr. Mouton-Odum has published numerous scientific journal articles, presents both internationally and at national conferences, and is coauthor of three books for the general public: A Parent Guide to Hair Pulling Disorder, Out of the Rabbit Hole: A Road Map to Freedom from OCD, and Psychological Interventions for Children with Sensory Dysregulation.

Melinda Stanley, Ph.D.

CONSULTANT
Dr. Stanley is a licensed psychologist and a Distinguished Emeritus Professor in the Department of Psychiatry and Behavioral Sciences at Baylor College of Medicine, Houston, Texas. She has published widely on the topics of trichotillomania, obsessive compulsive disorder, and anxiety in older adults, and she and her colleagues have conducted clinical research trials with patients who have these disorders. She previously served as a consultant to the TLC Foundation for Body Focused Repetitive Behaviors (formerly the Trichotillomania Learning Center).

Nancy Keuthen, Ph.D.

CONSULTANT
Dr. Keuthen is a licensed psychologist and Associate Professor of Psychology in the Department of Psychiatry at Harvard Medical School. She is a leader in the field of treatment of both trichotillomania and self-injurious skin-picking, having published extensively on treatment for both of these disorders. Dr. Keuthen has co-authored a strategy-based self-help book for the treatment of adults with trichotillomania (Help for Hair Pullers). She serves on the Scientific Advisory Board for the TLC Foundation for Body Focused Repetitive Behaviors (formerly the Trichotillomania Learning Center).

Doug Woods, Ph.D.

CONSULTANT
Dr. Doug Woods received his Ph.D. in Clinical Psychology from Western Michigan University in 1999. He is currently Dean of the Graduate School and Professor of Psychology at Marquette University. Prior to that was Professor and Head of Psychology at Texas A&M University and Professor of Psychology at the University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee where he also served as Chair of Psychology, Director of Clinical Training, and Associate Dean of the Graduate School. Dr. Woods has authored or co-authored over 280 papers or chapters, and authored or co-authored 9 books on Tic Disorders, Trichotillomania, and other repetitive behavior problems. Dr. Woods has received over $5 million dollars in extramural funding from the NIMH, TSA Grants program, Trichotillomania Learning Center Grants program. He is a former co-chair and current member of the Tourette Association of America’s Medical Advisory Board.

Michael Himle, Ph.D.

CONSULTANT
Michael B. Himle, Ph.D. is a licensed clinical psychologist and Associate Professor of Psychology at the University of Utah. He is an expert in behavioral approaches for understanding and treating tic disorders and related conditions. His current research examines environmental factors and behavioral processes involved in the onset and course of these conditions and translating this information into more effective non-pharmacological treatments such as habit reversal training and Comprehensive Behavioral Intervention for Tics (CBIT). He is also interested in dissemination strategies for behavior therapy, including the use of technology to deliver treatment and training more CBIT providers. He has published more than 60 peer-reviewed publications and book chapters and has given more than 100 conference presentations and invited talks on Tourette Syndrome and related conditions. His research has received funding from the Tourette Association of America and the National Institutes of Health. He serves on the Medical Advisory Board and Behavioral Sciences Consortium for the Tourette Syndrome Association of America (TAA) and is primary instructor for the Tourette Association of America’s Behavior Therapy Training Institute (TAA-BTI).
